"This is to all the veteran war fighters out there. If the shoe fits wear it. If it doesn't just shrug it off and recognize that it does not apply to you. Memorial day is right around the corner. It is a troublesome and sometimes confusing day for a lot of people. A day when people walk up to us and to say "thanks for your service" not realizing that the person they're thanking feels guilty that they are alive and all of their friends are dead. It is a day we watch everyone have barbecues, drink beer, and enjoy the day off. Remember that this was the point of it all. I want my family and friends to live in ignorant bliss. Never having to know about the blood and screams. So on May 30th when somebody thanks you for service, don't be a bitch and correct them about the difference between veterans day and memorial day. Look around at the smiles on everyone's faces. Smell the smoke from the barbecue, kick back put your feet up and enjoy a beer. Live in the moment for a day. Be in the present appreciating our brothers that gave it all, and that they did it for a reason. Know that the people around you are doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing. They are doing what we fought and some died for. They are enjoying a FREE life."

​Dates: Memorial Day Weekend (May 23rd-26th)

NOTE: We will have members at the Hotel as early as 1300          on the 23rd setting up, so don't be afraid to ride out early.  We can always drink beer and play yard games!

  • Chapter members will be on site setting up at the Hampton Inn parking lot.  Early arrivals are welcome to join us.

- Friday, May 24th

  • 0900 - 1900 Check-in and party at the Host Hotel
    • ​Event Patches, and Pins, and Raffle Tickets 
  • 0900 - 1400 Members ride in your own groups for lunch. We've listed a few places below , make one stop or couple stops for lunch a drink along the way. - Saturday, May 25th

  • 0830 - Blessing of the Bikes - Voluntary​
  • 0900 - Mandatory Safety brief for the run to the wall
  • 0930 - Kick Stands Up (KSU). Ride to LaSalle Veterans Home
    • Present Donation - ONLY will IL State Rep along with      IL -24s Chapter Commanders present donations.
    • Ride to the Wall
  • 1200 - 1400 - Ceremony 
    • ​*** Event Sign-In - Credit for Sanctioned Event (Make sure you have your ID card with Magnetic Strip)
  • 1400 – Ride on your own or as a group for lunch. We will have designated members leading group rides to various spots for lunch and drinks.
  • 1700 @ HQ Parking Lot
    • ​Door prizes, Raffles, 50/50, Camaraderie, Social Games, Music, Beer, Bonfire
  • 1800 @ HQ Parking Lot 
    • Taco Truck: Fernando's Street Kitchen  (see flyer below)


​- Sunday, May 26th

  • Sunday morning will be packing up and going home folks.  We wish you all a safe and beautiful ride home and Thank you for coming to spend time together honoring our fallen and for the fellowship!
